2–Day Mykonos Experience from Athens

Although one of the smallest islands of the Cyclades complex, Mykonos definitely makes up for it thanks to its treasures of natural beauty, rich history, cosmopolitan character combined with a wild nightlife, as well as plenty of local color.

The island boasts many beaches where you can soak up the sun and the atmosphere. Be sure to get there early especially in the summer months. Watch the sunset with the water lapping at your feet from one of the many waterside bars in the Little Venice quarter or for some serious partying, head to one of the many late night dance clubs.

If you\'re after a bit of history and culture, the island has five museums you can visit as well as a beautiful church. The church of Panagia Paraportiani is located beyond the Delos Ferry Quay on the way to Little Venice.

Just off Mykonos is the sacred island of Delos. The island is one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece, and certainly the most important in the Cyclades. Ferries depart from the Old Jetty at the western end of the harbor and can be booked directly.

Acropolis Walking Tour

Syntagma Metro station, where your tour begins contains many archaeological exhibits including ancient grave stones, an aqueduct from the 5th century BC, pottery, a 2,000-year old beehive and a mosaic from the 5th century AD.

You will then see the House of the Greek Parliament, former Palace. Walking through the Syntagma Square, the heart of the city, you come either to Sotira of Lycodimos or the Kottakis Church both beautiful Byzantine churches which you are going to visit.

Continue strolling through the Plaka\'s paved streets before arriving at the Lysicrates Monument from the 4th century BC and the remnants of an old Christian Church. A ten-minute walk up the beautiful Dionyssiou Areopagitou pedestrian walkway will bring you to the Acropolis, crowned by the Parthenon, with its spectacular views over the city below.

4–Day Spetses Excursion

Spetses, the Diamond of the Saronic Gulf has a rich history and an air of grandeur from days gone by. Explore the old harbour and the islands many beaches.

Known as the Saronic Gulf\'s Diamond, Spetses is located at the entrance of the Saronic Gulf very near the mainland of Peloponese.

The island was used as the setting for novelist John Fowles\' book \'The Magus\' in 1965, mainly due to the islands heat and the seductive scent of the pine trees.

Spetses retains much of the grandeur and old-world elegance of its heyday as an important shipbuilding and maritime trading centre. The main town is peppered with imposing 200 year old mansions with pebble mosaic courtyards. These were mainly built by wealthy sea captains and successful merchants many of whom made their fortunes by running the British blockade during the Napoleonic Wars.

The Spetses museum is a must see, and houses the mansion of Spetses\' famous heroine, the 19th century seagoing Amazon Lascarina Bouboulina. The Old Harbour is also an engaging place to wander and admire the many fishing boats and yachts.

Spetses\' coastline is speckled with numerous coves with small, pine shaded beaches to relax and soak up the rays.
