Isla Mujeres (Island of Women) is a casual, laid-back refuge from the conspicuously commercialized action of Cancun, visible across a narrow channel. Just 8km (5 miles) long and 4km (2.5 miles) wide, it\'s known as the best value in the Caribbean, assuming that you prefer an easy-going pace, and prefer simplicity to pretense.

This island of white-sand beaches and turquoise waters, is complemented by a town filled with Caribbean-colored clapboard houses and rustic, open-air restaurants specializing in the bounty of the sea.

Isla Mujeres offers a relaxing and fun tour from Cancun. The day commences with a 45-minute cruise across the beautiful turquoise Caribbean waters to one of the islands beaches. On the island, you can snorkel, or simply lay back and work on a suntan! Wander around the laid-back town center and shop for some souvenirs, before boarding the boat and heading back to the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Cancun.

Horseback Riding near Cancun

See the exotic beaches and the Cancun surroundings by horseback on this relaxing day tour. Surrounded by Mexican jungle and the exquisite turquoise water, this trail ride is scenic and peaceful. Refresh yourself, swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea before returning to the ranch for some light refreshments.

A 40-minute drive south of Cancun lies a ranch and stables with over 100 horses suitable for all riders from beginners to experienced. A 2 hour ride takes you through the exotic jungle, coconut palms and the serene beaches.

Once on the beach, your group is divided in two, those who would like to swim with the horse and those who would like to gallop the horse along the beach (note that you can only do one or the other, not both).

Once back in the ranch, some Mexican snacks will be served, soft drinks included. Alcoholic beverages are available for sale. During the trip, a photographer will be taking pictures and these will be ready and on sale at the end of the journey. The ranch has a swimming pool for use and some farm animals are also on the premises.

Jungle Speed Boat Tour from Cancun

On a wave runner or speedboat for two, set off from Cancun on a breathtaking tour across the Nichupte lagoon, through the dense mangroves, the Nizuk River and the Caribbean Sea, all the way to the Nizuk Coral Reef where you\'ll snorkel among living colorful corals and a myriad of tropical fish.

This may be the most fun you\'ll ever have in Cancun! Two persons are assigned to each wave runner or speedboat and a total of 10 in each group are led by a guide.

The vehicles set off from the marina across the expanse of the Nichupte lagoon and through the dense mangroves, to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Here, in one of the largest reefs in the Western Hemisphere, you will stop for about 45 minutes to relax or snorkel amidst the colorful tropical fish, coral and sea plants.
