This tour duration of 3.5 hours includes return transfers, safety brief and practice ride and approximately 2.5 hour on the quad bike including photo opportunities.

Tour group numbers can vary from 1 up to 10 depending on the time of the year.

Children must be over 12 years and 12-16 years must be accompanied by an adult and have parental consent. Quad bike riding is considered a moderate physical activity.

Enjoy an exciting ride and sensational views of this unique landscape. A great tour for those with a sense of adventure. You will be picked up from your accommodation and taken to your desert location where you will be given a full safety brief and a practice ride before heading out on your guided tour. You will be given a helmet and the bike has a hand held radio for your safety. You are also provided with bottled water throughout the tour and upon return to the vehicle, the offer of a cold cloth to wipe away some of that dirt you have collected on your exciting desert adventure. Then once the bikes are loaded onto the trailer, you will be returned to your accommodation. Please allow 3.5 hours for this tour.

Our tours include return transfers from all Alice Springs acommodation houses and or the airport. Each person is required to fill out and sign a tour agreement agreeing to the terms and conditions and payment requirements. Only 1 person per bike is allowed.

DAY 1 (L,D) South East to our first stop the Aboriginal Community of Santa Teresa. See mirages and climb big red sand dunes that you've only imagined. Visit rare Acacia Peuce “Waddy Trees” in the driest part of Australia. Along the Old Andado Track to Molly Clarks Pioneer Homestead in the Simpson Desert. We traverse the Southern Hemisphere's largest private Cattle Station “Andado”. Through the Finke River Floodout and across the NT-SA Border to Mt Dare Hotel,a unique remote Oasis for man & birds in far north South Australia. Dinner,Bed and Breakfast at Mt Dare offers the opportunity to mingle with locals and Simpson Desert Travellers. DAY 2 (B,L,D) Birding & nature walks for early risers around Mt Dare Hotel. After a Homestead breakfast we travel through Witjira National Park to Dalhousie Homestead ruins, where a Pioneer operated a Sheep Station in 1872. Smoko, swim & relax in the nearby Dalhousie Thermal Springs. You will really begin to feel the remoteness of the desert as we travel in 'real' camel country to Federal, as the Afghans did over 100 years ago. Campfire Lunch & Billy Tea amongst Sand Dunes & Mulga Scrub. Return, via Blood Creek sheep station ruins, to Mt Dare Hotel for a relaxing evening. DAY 3 (B,L) Farewells at Mt Dare. Onto Finke Township where we run parallel to the Old Ghan embankment and the finish line of the Finke Desert Race Track. Bundooma to Alice Well. This Historical village site (1887 to 1911) is accessed by only a small number of Modern travellers. Northwards along beautiful Red Sand Track which follows a remaining section of the Old Telegraph Line to Titjikala. Continue our journey to the Historic Chambers Pillar. Time here to walk; reflect and enjoy the remote and beautiful outback desert region before returning to Alice Springs. Morning, afternoon tea and lunch provided en route. A good level of fitness is an advantage for completing the 4 main hikes, ranging from 6 to 9 km. Bring: hat, sunscreen, sleeping bag, walking shoes, bug spray, jacket, warm clothes in winter, sunglasses, water bottle, swimwear, towel, torch, small backpack (to carry on walks).

(1) Tours depart every Wednesday from Adelaide and every Saturday from Alice Springs. (2) Prices valid for travel up to 31 March 2007. Includes all touring, camping 5 nights, bunkhouse accommodation 2 nights, all meals from lunch day 1 to lunch day 8. (3) $895 to 31 Mar 2007. Child rate $715 (up to 12yrs). Day 1 - Adelaide to Flinders Ranges (LD) From Adelaide, our way north weaves through the Clare Valley vineyards and a string of quaint towns. Enjoy big views of the Flinders Ranges as we approach Wilpena campsite tonight. Day 2 - Wilpena Pound (BLD) Our first chance for spectacular hikes. The views are breathtaking. After lunch, dirt roads lead to the old copper mines of Blinman. At Angorichina cool off in the nearby waterhole & stay in bunkhouse style accommodation. Day 3 - Oodnadatta Track to William Creek (BLD) We breakout from the Ranges through Parachilna Gorge with an option to cycle 7km through the Gorge. Copley Bakery is the last cappuccino opportunity for 300km. The bitumen ends at Lyndhurst, see the Aboriginal ochre pits, Marree's Old Ghan rail station. The Oodnadatta Track follows the dusty trail of the camel caravans past Lake Eyre and thermal mound springs. We camp in swags within stumbling distance of William Creek Pub. Day 4 - Oodnadatta Track to Coober Pedy (BLD) Desert landscapes include red dunes, salt pans & gibber plains on the morning drive to Coober Pedy. We'll show you an underground house, mine tour, opal cutting, underground church - and time to 'noodle' (fossick) for opals. Underground bunkhouse is our 'digs' tonight. Day 5 - Breakaways to Uluru (BLD) Roam the colourful Breakaways (Mad Max III, Priscilla) then 700kms of highway via Erldunda to Uluru. By special invite, we may go off-highway to visit Iwantja Aboriginal Arts. Arrive camp in time for Uluru sunset. Days 6 & 7 - Uluru & Kata Tjuta (BLD) Two nights is a big advantage: double chances for sunsets & sunrises, more time for Uluru and Kata Tjuta walks & more flexibility in hot weather. Camp near Kings Canyon (with facilities). Day 8 - Kings Canyon to Alice (BL) On the 3 hour Rim Walk you'll see the sandstone domes of the Lost City, the Garden of Eden pool & views along both walls of Kings Canyon. The afternoon travels on to Alice, arriving by 6pm.

Your experience begins with a safety briefing before your flight in our Bell 47 helicopter. This will take approximately five minutes. After seat belts are fastened and you've been fitted with headsets, we take off from our helipad tracking north to picturesque Heavitree Gap separating the East and West MacDonnell Ranges and perhaps catch sight of “The Ghan” as it winds its way into Alice Springs. There are plenty of photo opportunities as we turn and head south over the Todd River with its magnificent white gums, revealing extensive views of Alice township and the surrounding desert ranges. Your pilot will point out the sights over the intercom on which you can transmit to him and each other. On return to the airport, you will be escorted from the helicopter to our reception lounge for a cold drink, tea or coffee.

We operate throughout the year at times to suit your itinerary except for Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Flights are subject to aircraft availability and favourable weather conditions. Wear warm clothes in the winter. Summer-ensure clothing will protect you from the sun(cap/tie-on hat). Sensible footwear is advisable, avoid thongs. ALL INSURANCES INCLUDED.
