Salty Dog''s Half Day Turtle & Snorkel Tour is our most popular guided sea kayaking trip. It is designed to be appreciated by both experienced and novice paddlers alike - the emphasis is on fun & enjoyment, not hard work.
Departing from our base at Shute Harbour, we kayak over fringing coral reefs and explore nearby tropical islands. these turquoise waters and islands are home to an amazing diversity of bird & marine life including soaring eagles & giant sea turtles.
We stop off at one or two of the many beaches en-route allowing plenty of time for a swim & a snorkel.
Suitable For: Beginners to experienced paddlers ( Full instruction provided by qualified guides)
We Supply: Top quality double & single kayaks and accessories. snorkeling gear,stinger suits, dry bags, safety briefing and a guide\s plus a mid-morning cheese and fruit platter.
You Should Bring: Hat, sunscreen, footwear, (Tevas are ideal), water bottle, waterproof camera , swimsuit.
Pickup: Airlie Beach 8:30 AM Returns: 12:30PM (Courtesy Bus Available)
Paddling: 6 km approx
All staff are experienced / qualified sea kayaking guides.
Clients need to sign and indemnity / waiver of liability form prior to kayaking activity. Must also dislose any medical conditions which may have bearing on performance etc. |

Our courtesy bus picks you up from your accommoation in Airlie Beach at 8:30am and returns at approx 4:30 pm. Distance paddled varies according to conditions and group capability - however expect to paddle from 15 - 20kms with plenty of time for snorkelling and relazing on the beach.
Usually group size is less than 8, however occasionally it is larger ( up to 12).
We operate with a maximum guide / client ration of 1:8
No previous kayaking experience is required however an average fitness level or better is useful.
Paddlers must by 15 years or older and physically capable.
All paddlers are required to sign an indemnity which includes a medical declaration.
This is a great day, sea kayaking and an opportunity to observe nature close up. We paddle out from Shute Harbour & explore the beaches and waters of the nearby Molle group of islands - home to giant sea turtles, dolphins, whales ( seasonal) and a myriad of other marine life. This trip has it all -exhilerating kayaking, kayak sailing ( when conditions allow), lazing on beautiful beaches, snorkeling over amazing coral reefs and taking in scenic island bush walks.
Paddlers will need to complete and sign an indemnity form and medical declaration prior to setting out in the kayaks.
All guides are qualified / experienced sea kayaking guides. |

Great Barrier Reef Cruise to Reefworld |
Voyage to Reefworld, at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef daily on our comfortable air-conditioned high speed catamaran. Come face to face with tropical reef fish. Be amazed at the coral formations. Explore snorkelling trails or relax on the sundeck and enjoy the view of the Great Barrier Reef.
This tour departs Shute Harbour and collects passengers at various resorts and heads out to Reefworld on the Great Barrier Reef.
We can collect you from your Airlie Beach Accomodation, Shute Harbour, Daydream Island, Hamilton Island or Long Island Resort and return.

An Environmental Management Charge of $4.50 per head is charged to tourist operators for all visitors over 4 years of age to the Great Barrier Reef and environs.

Your helicopter will pick you up from Hamilton Island and whisk you away for a trip to remember. You will be dropped off at Whitehaven beach with a picnic luncheon, an esky with champagne, juice and mineral water and supplied with a beach umbrella and snorkelling gear. 1.5 hours later, the helicopter will return to pick you up and return you back to Hamilton Island.
