Why fly both ways to Ayers Rock in a commercial jet when you miss out on all the fabulous scenery and outback locations rushing by beneath you? We offer you the opportunity to see the outback over 3 days and 2 nights either enroute to Ayers Rock or on the way home from it.

This tour starts in Ayers Rock, stops in South Australia and finishes in Melbourne.

Ayers Rock/Uluru Alice Springs and Central Australia Northern Territory

Depending on the destination city our Ayers Rock itineraries are generally 3 days and 2 nights or 4 days and 3 nights.

To allow our clients to fully appreciate what the great Australian outback has to offer we limit our groups to a maximum of 6. We require a minimum of 2 to operate.

Luggage is limited to 10kgs per client in a soft bag.

Day 1 Enjoy a complimentary sunset or sunrise scenic flight over Ayers Rock and the The Olgas with our alliance company Ayers Rock Scenic. Flights depart Ayers Rock enroute to Oodnadatta. We will refuel here and enjoy an icy cold drink and an outback lunch at the unforgettable pink roadhouse. After lunch we take off for the Mungerannie Hotel overflying the Goyder Lagoon, for our first night under the outback stars with our hosts John and Genevieve Hammond. Day 2 We depart Mungerannie for Kars Station, where we stay with Fred Hughes. Once at Kars there is free time to wander around and visit the local school house museum. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the courtyard, followed by dinner of freshly BBQ'd Australian beef and lamb. Afterwards relax and enjoy the outback stars. Day 3 We depart Kars for Portee Station, situated on the floodplains of the Murray River, on the edge of the world famous wine growing Valley. Here we stay with Ian Clark at his 4 1/2 star homestead and where we will have lunch on the lawn overlooking the river. Enjoy a guided tour of the Barossa wineries. Relax and enjoy dinner under the outback stars at this fabulous South Australian property. Day 4 After a leisurely breakfast Ian will take us on a guided tour of Portee. By 4WD you see native animals, discover vast salt lakes, examine fossilised remains of the oldest life forms on earth, but best of all, experience Australia's rugged outback. Afterwards we pause to watch the sunset with a champagne dinner at a local homestead.

This activity takes place at Mt Connor and departs from Ayers Rock/Uluru.

Ayers Rock/Uluru Alice Springs and Central Australia Northern Territory

7 hours

Small group touring.

Parts of this tour are conducted in remote areas and itineraries advertised may have to be varied at short notice due to road and weather conditions. The safety of the tour party is our paramount concern.

Mt. Conner, the third of the great monoliths, is 100 kms east of Uluru and on the western fringe of the vast cattle station, Curtin Springs. As the tour follows the stations 4WD tracks, you will discover vast salt lakes that are remnants of ancient inland oceans, examine fossilised remains of the oldest life forms on earth, but best of all, experience Australia''s rugged outback. Circling Mt Connor, you''ll be surprised to find a hidden side with a series of rugged gorges, a perfect haven for small populations of Red Kangaroos and Rock Wallabies. Because of the dams built for watering cattle, wildlife is more prevalent here than in the desert. The 4wd grinds and bounces its way to a high lookout giving view over the vast, arid desert on into South Australia. Before the sunsets we reach the ruins of the first homestead. A hole in the sand hills and a pile of sandstone chimney blocks are all that remain, in what seems like the loneliest place in the world. With the imposing Mt Conner changing colour in the background and a rusty windmill churning quietly, we toast the sunset with complimentary champagne and wonder how lonely yet splendid, it would have been to live in such a place. Then in the gathering night we drive to Curtin Springs, where in the kitchen built from parts of the old homestead, we enjoy a three-course dinner prepared by the station cook, before returning to Ayers Rock Resort.

Guides are tertiary qualified, mostly in a science stream and very passionate about the environment and the natural and cultural heritage.
