
Weekend Sailing Course - 2 days |
This course will not only teach you the basics of sailing yachts, it will wet your appetite for more! Learn to steer the yacht and work the sails as you sail the boat around beautiful Moreton Bay. The course teaches ropes & knots, how to work the sails and winches, steering and using the compass.
You will meet the instructor at Spinnakers Cafe at East Coast Marina on the Royal Esplanade at the southern end of Manly Boat Harbour, Manly, Brisbane. You will spend the night at another harbour or anchorage in Moreton Bay.

The course commences at 9am on the Saturday and returns to Manly
Boat Harbour at 4pm on the Sunday.
There will be a maximum of 5 students on board plus the instructor.
Please inform the skipper of any health issues such as eppilepsy, diabetes, heart problems. Please bring personal items for the overnight stay. Bring hat, suncream, swimmers, towel, a warm jacket, base sheet and sleeping bag and pillow.
The weekend course commences at 9am with a safety brief on board followed by 2 days sailing on beautiful Moreton Bay. You will spend the night on board the yacht at another harbour or at anchor and will enjoy the delights of a short night sail. The weekend course includes accomodation and all meals on board. At the Southern Cross School of Yachting we teach sailing in the simplest and most enjoyable way possible so you will not only learn more, but you will have a great time doing it!
At the end of the course, not only will you understand the basics of yachting; you will be
awarded The Start Yachting certificate from the RYA to prove it! The 2 days of this course also count towards the RYA Competent Crew Course.
Under 18's: 12-16 year olds accepted when sailing with parent or guardian. Unaccompanied children accepted at 16-18 but all Booking Forms for children under 18 to be signed by parent or guardian, stating this fact after the signature. Sailing subject to weather conditions. |
