designed for fit and active people, and include lots of bushwalks/hiking. Try a bit of fishing - you may even catch your dinner!

This bushwalking and camping tour departs from Hobart and travels up the East Coast of Tasmania to Launceston. Itinerary is as follows:
Day 1: pick-ups from Hobart at 6.30am, bushwalk/hike to Cape Raoul, remote area bushcamp.
Day 2: bushwalk/hike in Freycinet National Park with amazing views of Wineglass Bay, bushcamp in rainforest.
Day 3: bushwalks in Bay of Fires and The Blue Tier rainforest, arrive in Launceston around 6pm.
All meals, camping accommodation, entrance to National Parks included in price.
We provide most meals. Breakfast consists of cereals, fruit, toast and tea/coffee. Lunches vary from sandwiches to BBQs. Evening meals are prepared in camp ovens or on a barbeque (gas stoves are used in unfavourable weather). Vegetarian meals can easily be prepared on request. You will be amazed
at the meals that can be prepared on an open campfire...a roast dinner or fresh damper bread!!! Experience Tasmanian gourmet foods such as local cheeses and fine
wines. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available every day.

such as Cradle Mountain and Wineglass Bay, we take you to remote, lesser known areas. Many of the places we go can be accessed by 4WD only.

Please bring warm and waterproof clothing (suitable for bush walking), sturdy walking shoes, swimming gear, sunscreen and a hat, water bottle, a warm sleeping bag. Children must be at least 12 and accompanied by an adult.
This 9 day active, camping tour lets you fully explore Tasmania and departs from Hobart:
Day 1: 6.30am pick up from your hostel/hotel, bushwalk/hike to Cape Raoul, remote area bushcamp.
Day 2: Bushwalk in Freycinet National Park (Wineglass Bay), bushcamp in rainforest.
Day 3: Bay of Fires, bushwalk/hike through The Blue Tier rainforest, arrive in Launceston (hostel accommodation included in price).
Day 4: Free day to explore Launceston (overnight hostel accommodation included in price).
Day 5: Leave Launceston 6.30am. Mole Creek Caves, Cradle Mountain (hiking/bushwalk), remote bushcamp.
Day 6: Bushwalk/hike in The Tarkine (Australia's largest temperate rainforest), remote West Coast of Tasmania, bushcamp beside the Southern Ocean.
Day 7: Bushwalk/hike at Montezuma Falls, Strahan, bushcamp at Ocean Beach.
Day 8: Bushwalk/hike at Lake St Clair, camp at remote Highland Lake.
Day 9: Various bushwalks in Mt Field National Park, The Styx Valley, arrive in Hobart around 6.00pm.

The Tour starts with a Hotel Pick-Up in Hobart.
A twenty minute drive sees us in the Mountain Park and ready for our first short walk.
We take a forest walk to the Octopus Tree, a towering 200 year old eucalypt which grows in a very special way. See Tasmania's Gondwanan Rainforest species and ancient Tree Ferns along the way and cross the headwaters of the Hobart Rivulet. Learn some fascinating local history.
We drive to the Springs (720m ASL) and after a short break, take our second walk. We walk thru drier forest and the track cuts right across boulderfields on the way to Sphinx Rock - an amazing lookout over the Treetops down to Hobart. We get great views from here even if the Mountain Top is covered in clouds. Take some time out to enjoy a gourmet Lunch here, or in a rustic Mountain Hut nearby if the weather closes in.
Then we return to the van and take a scenic drive to the summit (1270m ASL). There is time on top to explore and marvel at the outstanding views or take a walk in the clouds before our return to Hobart.

Adventurous 1/2 Day Mt Wellington Tour |
This half day (4 Hour) tour includes a scenic drive from Hobart, an adventurous 2 - 2.5hr walk (550m elevation gain, 4.5km), a delicious gourmet lunch and a breathtaking (or bone-chilling!) Summit visit. Our experienced local guides tell you the history, explain the bush and point out the birds.
This activity departs from Hobart, Tasmania and visits Mt Wellington before returning to Hobart. Mt Nelson may be visited on the return journey to attain a view of the city on cloudy days. We provide a courtesy pick you service from your accommodation (central Hobart only).

After we pick you up from your accommodation or from a central Hobart location we then head off to magnificent Mt Wellington for fun, fitness, adventure and discovery.
Twenty minutes driving sees us at The Springs - the original source of Hobart Town's fresh drinking water. We start our walk at 720m ASL, and do it easy across to Sphinx Rock -a magnificent treetop lookout which gives us great views of Hobart, the Derwent, Tasman Peninsula and Maria Island on the East Coast. This is one of Hobart's best spots, and you'd be surprised how many locals don't even know about it.
From here we head up across the face of the mountain on the old Sawmill Track to the base of the Organ Pipes, crossing boulder fields and mountain streams on the way. We get a great perspective on the cliffs from underneath.
We cut back across the mountain and then take the Zig Zag Track steeply up beside the cliffs, stopping for a delicious Gourmet Lunch at a carved dolerite bench seat with outstanding views of Hobart, the Derwent, Freycinet Peninsula, Storm Bay, Bruny Island and the Tasman Peninsula.
After a relaxing interlude, a short steep pinch sees us on the summit plateau and it's only five minutes from here to the summit!
We typically spend ten or fifteen minutes here admiring the panoramic views and basking in the glow of our efforts.

Feeling adventurous? Hobart is a brilliant place to enjoy the outdoors - come and see what we're famous for with a sea kayak session on the Derwent River, easy or adventurous walk and gourmet lunch on Mt Wellington followed by a breathtaking (yet easy) mountain bike descent back down to Hobart.
This adventure starts and ends in Hobart Docks area.
This activity takes place on the Derwent River from Hobart to Sandy Bay (Paddle), in the forest and across boulderfields and to the summit of Mt Wellington (Walk), and on the pinnacle road, fire trails and streets of Hobart (Ride).

This is the best thing you can possibly do in Hobart if you love being active in the outdoors. There are 3 amazing activities packed into one awesome day:
- a 2hr sea kayak on the Derwent River
- a 2 to 2.5hr walk (easy or adventurous) and gourmet lunch on Mt Wellington
- a 2hr mountain bike descent from the top of Mt Wellington (1270m ASL) back down into Hobart.
The 8:30am Trip starts with the paddle, then walk, then finishes with the ride.
The 11am Trip starts with the walk, then ride, and finishes with the paddle.
The paddle is in double sea kayaks and leaves from Blackaby's Sea Kayaks at the Hobart Docks (next to Mures Restaurant and opposite the Mawson and Dogs Statue). The Tour is fully guided and all gear and instruction is provided. You will paddle around the Hobart Docks area, past Salamanca Place and around historic Battery Point before passing ship building yards and the Derwent Sailing Squadron (home of the Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race). The turn-around point of the paddle is marked by Australia's first casino, Wrest Point. Enjoy a fresh brewed coffee (morning)or fish'n'chips (afternoon) on arrival back at Blackaby's.
The Walk is fully guided too - you choose from EASY (2 hours, 4.5km, mostly flat, visit the best features on the mountain) or ADVENTUROUS (2.5 hours, 4.5km, 550m vertical gain, rough tracks, walk to the top). Includes transport to and from Hobart, scenic drive, fascinating local history, amazing views, knowledgable local guide, gourmet lunch and time at the end for an exploration of the summit area.
The Ride takes 2 hours and descends 1270m over 21km. It includes all gear hire, ace guides, transport backup and afternoon tea at the Cascade Visitor Centre's beautiful gardens. The ride is on the spectacular Summit Road and offers an optional off-road section from the lower slopes. Finish at the Tourism Info Centre in Hobart or at Blackaby's Sea Kayaks.
A wonderfully varied day of activities, conducted in a relaxed and fun way.
All staff for the three activities are experienced guides who hold all necessary first aid and ancillary licences. Waivers will need to be signed for the Ride. Safety briefing will need to be initialled for the Walk. |

This activity begins at the Hobart Docks. The paddle takes place between the docks and Sandy Bay. What better way to start your day than with a paddle on Hobart's beautiful Derwent River? Meet at the Hobart Docks at 8:30am and your friendly guide will help you with gear and technique and take you on a superb 2 hour sea kayak tour from Hobart's docks right down to Sandy Bay.
On the way you'll pass historic Battery Point and the Derwent Sailing Squadron (home of the Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race). Learn some of the history of the area, as it's soaked in it. The turn around marker is Wrest Point Casino - Australia's first casino. Once back at the docks and changed out of your gear you'll enjoy a freshly brewed cuppa and a light snack onboard our boat.
Your guide will arrive in good time to take you to the mountain for an EASY or ADVENTUROUS walk (you choose). This activity starts with a scenic drive from Hobart to the mountain's middle slopes. The 2 to 2.5 hour walk starts here.
The EASY walk is 4.5km, mostly flat and visits the mountain's best features before driving you to the top. The ADVENTUROUS walk is 4.5km, gains 550m vertical elevation on rough tracks and you walk to the top!
There will be time for a gourmet lunch along the way and heaps of history, flora, geology, climatology, local stories and bird spotting. The EASY Tour is particularly relaxed and the ADVENTUROUS Tour will get your heart pumping. Both Tours finish with a summit visit and scenic drive back down into Hobart.

Hotel Pickups start from 10:45am, so there's time for a lie in and a long breakfast.
Once in the Mt Wellington Walks Van (by 11am) we take a scenic drive to our walk start point, half way up the Mountain.
By this time you will have chosen an EASY walk(2hrs, 4.5km, mostly flat track to the mountain's best features) or an ADVENTUROUS walk (2.5hrs, 4.5km, 550m elevation gain on rough track to the summit).
The EASY walk is actually two short walks - one in a tall wet eucalypt forest which visits the Octopus Tree, and the other across boulderfields to Sphinx Rock, a magnificent forest lookout and our lunch spot.
The ADVENTUROUS walk begins at the Springs and heads across to Sphinx Rock before ascending the Sawmill Track to the base of the Organ Pipes (spectacular cliffs). From here we do it easy back across the mountain before climbing the steep and rocky Zig Zag Track to an awesome carved rock seat perched high on the mountain. We break here for lunch. A short steep pinch sees us at the summit shortly after.
Both Walks include a gourmet lunch enjoyed in the wilds. Both Walks visit the summit - arriving there around 2:10pm.
We meet the Island Cycle Tours crew on top of the Mountain at 2:20-2:30pm. There is time for sightseeing and photos of the amazing views before getting started on the Ride.
Your expert guides will fit you out with all the gear you need for the Ride down, and give you instructions to ensure it's safe and fun.
You will Ride 22km and drop 1270m of elevation from the top of Mt Wellington down to Hobart.
Riding starts at 2:40pm down the pinnacle road.
There are opportunities along the way to stop for photos. At approximately 3:15pm you arrive at Bracken Lane for an optional offroad section. It's 5km of ups and downs and definitely for the adventurous. The group gets to the Cascade Gardens about 3:50pm for a drink and snack. We have time to enjoy the beautiful gardens before resuming the Ride, finishing in Hobart at 4:30pm
Guides hold First Aid certificates and are experienced.
Both companies are Tourism Accredited Operators with all relvant Insurances and Licences.
A waiver will need to be signed for the Ride, and we will need to know your height in order to provide you with the most comfortable bike |
