We start with a hotel pickup. Departing the city, we arrive at our breakfast location, Featherdale Wildlife Park where here we enjoy a special environment free of other tourists. Breakfast consists of fresh croissants, bread rolls, cheese, spreads, fresh fruits, juice tea/coffee, and some welcoming native visitors. After breakfast we enjoy meeting Australian animals including kangaroos, emus, wombats, dingos and more.
We then depart Featherdale Park as it opens to regular visitors and travel to the Blue Mountains - we ascend Bells Line of Road and pause at Bilpin, citrus region of Sydney and this is a chance to purchase fresh fruit from the shop. Leaving here we continue past Tomah Botanic Gardens and further up the mountains for a stop at Mt Banks. Here we have a short nature walk where the native flora is described in an informative and interesting manner and we see wonderful Blue Mountains valley and wall views.
From this point we cross the mountains to Mt Victoria and continue to Govetts Leap for magnificent Valley and waterfall views. Lunch is then enjoyed at the historic country Pub - the Imperial Hotel. After lunch we drive to see the views of Megalong Valley and then along the scenic Cliff Drive where we stop for views of the 3 Sisters at a little used location (away from the crowds) and here our guide relates an Aboriginal Dreamtime story about the 3 Sisters.
Travelling down the mountains we head into the national park to Euroka Clearing where guests will have one of the most memorable highlights of their day - kangaroos in their natural environment while enjoying a complimentary glass of champagne or fruit juice. We then depart the Mountains and drive to the Olympic Site for a short tour then down to the Homebush Bay Wharf to meet River Cat for the ferry trip down the river into Sydney Harbour (no traffic congestion on the river) - tour concludes at Circular Quay at approximately 5.30- 6.00pm.
This tour is highly appealing to the traveller wishing to experience a quality, personal day out of Sydney - away from mainstream tour operators and crowds, that is affordable and uniquely Australian. |
