The Coorong lies south of the mouth of the River Murray, 90 kilometres south east of Adelaide. It's northern end begins near the township of Goolwa and it extends south to Salt Creek. The area has many wild and unfrequented places. The ocean views, vast lakes and high sand dunes create a unique and spectacular landscape. Goolwa is a leisurely 90 minute drive from Adelaide following the signs along Main South Road. We will meet you at Goolwa on the wharf under the Hindmarsh Island Bridge. From there we take a short drive to Sugars Beach opposite the Murray Mouth on Hindmarsh Island and the real adventure begins. Here we load the stable double sea kayaks with supplies for the day and head off to discover the secrets of the Coorong. The journey is made at a leisurely pace and we stop at one of the National Park campsites for a BBQ lunch and stroll along a boardwalk across the dunes to the Great Southern Ocean. The NP&WS have supplied a number of interpretive signs that tell the story of the Coorong and information about the ecology of the area. The wetlands of this area are an important breeding ground for an incredible diversity of water birds, some of which are rare and endangered. The kayak is the most eco-friendly way to view these magnificent natural sights. We can even video your adventure for a lasting memory. Our special family package is priced to encourage the whole clan to get out, have fun and be active together!

The tour is weather dependant. Should the weather be unsuitable on the day you may transfer your booking to a subsequent tour or receive a refund (less booking agent fee).
