Great Barrier Reef Sailing Trip |
Passions of Paradise II is a truly special sailing vessel. Try snorkelling, scuba diving or glass bottom boat at two unique destinations. A fantastic
buffet lunch is also included.
this activity departs from Cairns
Cairns
Cairns and Tropical North QLD Queensland
Trip departs daily from Cairns at 8.00am and returns at 5.00pm. Time spent at the reef includes 3 hours at the Outer Barrier Reef (Paradise Reef) and 1 1/2 hours at Upolu cay (a small sand cay or island). Plenty of time at both locations for snorkelling, diving or glass bottom boat tour. The boat offers excellent shade from the tropical sun.
Introductory divers dive in groups no larger than 4 divers and one instructor. Certified divers are buddied up with another diver or if they choose to do a guided dive, groups are never greater than 5
The boat is suitable for all ages and families. For people who are water active, there is plenty to do. For those who don't wish to go in the water, there is a glass bottom boat tour and you can go for a walk on the small coral sand island at our second destination. Scuba diving requires the completion of an onboard medical questionnaire.
Passions of Paradise is a custom built 25 meter maxi-cat, sailing daily to Paradise Reef and Michaelmas Cay from Cairns.
No matter what the weather conditions, she will adapt. Strong winds mean exciting performance and less travelling time and calm winds mean a spacious comfortable platform to soak up the sun.
At 25 metres length overall and with a beam over 10 metres, she is one of the largest sailing catamarans in Australia. Guests travel daily to two fantastic destinations. The first is on the famed Outer Barrier Reef where Passions of Paradise II has its own exclusive mooring, hence no crowds. The second is Michaelmas Cay- a fragile and
unique ecosystem of brilliant white sand and warm shallow water.
Price includes morning and afternoon tea (fresh coffee and muffins), an excellent lunch including seafood with hot and cold dishes and all your snorkelling gear. Optional activities include introductory and certified scuba diving and glass bottom boat.
We support a number of environmental research projects, including daily updates on fish and coral health and our crew are always willing to help you learn more about this amazing ecosystem.
Please note there is a $10 reef levy covering reef tax, port and administrative charges that must be paid on board.
All staff are highly qualified and audited by Workplace Health and Safety. The company won 2004 Far North Queensland Best Tour and Transport Operator and 2005 SSI Best Australian Charter Boat - which is testimony to our high standard of product, tour and staff. |
