Hands-on Evening Classes start promptly at 6pm and finish at 9.30pm. This is a hands on class where students participate in preparing all dishes. Our classes are intimate and students sit around a table where they will have a full meal and wine learning and interacting with the chef and other students.

Classes are limited to 20 students.

Why not relax after a long day, enjoying a glass of wine surrounded by people who share similar interests. In this hands on class we prepare a full Italian menu celebrating all that is important in Italian food. You will also prepare fresh pasta or bread. Luciana Sampogna graduated from the Simili Sisters' school in Bologna. The Similis' have achieved international fame and ran Marcella Hazan's cooking school. Luciana Sampogna opened her first cooking school in New Zealand in 1998, where the media were quick to spot her talent. In 2002 Luciana opened her prestigious cooking school in Sydney. All the respected Food Magazines including Delicious, Vogue and Gourmet Traveller have recommended her Cooking School in Australia in 2003. In 2004 Luciana has been featured in Good Living, Delicious, a full page in Good Living and 8 pages were dedicated to her cooking school by Gourmet Traveller. "Not only is she the Simili's Sisters biggest fan, she is also following in their footsteps: her cooking school teaches the Simili Sisters' recipes, as well as following their philosophy of introducing the time-honoured traditions of regional Italian cooking to a new generation who, even in Italy, are fast losing these skills. With an extensive knowledge of Italian food Luciana strives to teach that it is the simplicity of Italian Food which makes it so special. Through her classes you will learn that Italian Food is not about techniques but carefully balancing ingredients without letting them overpower giving you the opportunity to discover the real flavour of Italian cuisine. By tasting the food throughout the class, you will learn the balance of each flavour. The price for this hands on class is per person which includes a full meal and wine.

Luciana's cooking school is based in Balmain. Luciana Sampogna was trained by the world renowned Sorelle Simili Sisters in Italy who ran Marcella Hazan's cooking school. Luciana has been featured in all leading magazines in Australia. The Sydney Weekender has classified her cooking school as one of the best Italian Cooking Schools in the world.
