Hot Air Ballooning Over Bendigo - Child |
There's something magical about hot air ballooning. Noisy one moment, quiet the next, ever changing, never dull. It's fun, it's crazy, it's wild yet safe. Even people who are frightened of heights say it's different. Your flight will last about an
hour but the memory will last a lifetime.
This activity takes place in Bendigo.

Please allow approx. 5-6 hours from the time we meet to the end of
breakfast. Time in the air is usually at least an hour. We meet 1 hour
before sunrise. We will provide you with a phone number to contact the
night before for final meeting times.
There may be up to 8 other passengers in the balloon basket with you. To ensure financial viability for the company, the minimum number required is 5 on weekdays and 4 on weekends and public holidays.
Generally, passengers must be between 8 and 108, and independently mobile in case of an emergency. Ballooning can be muddy, dusty and sweaty, so dress with that in mind. Long sleeves, trousers, and waterproof shoes are essential. It's coldest when we meet, so wear warm clothes that can be peeled off.
One of the great joys of hot air ballooning is meeting the sun as it peeps over the horizon. Even when the clouds hide the sun, the experience is lovely. Mystical even and ethereal. We can also do things that can't be done in other types of aircraft. Low-flying at low speed, for example, talking and joking sometimes with people on the ground, seeing wildlife close-up, and high-flying for uninterrupted 360° views. Furthermore, apart from perhaps a little rocking and rolling before take-off, your flight will be smooth. You won''t get tossed around in the air, and you won''t get air-sick. Guaranteed.
Depending on wind speed, we fly up to about 30km in an hour and almost never back to where we took off from. To save a long walk back, our crew follow us with balloon trailers, help us pack up and take us to breakfast. Do we ever get lost? Well, sometimes, but because our pilots and crew carry detailed topographic maps, VHF and UHF radios, mobile phones and global positioning units (GPS), staying together is generally straight-forward.
All our outings include sparkling wine (for the adults only), Belgian chocolates, orange juice and nibbles followed by cooked breakfast when we get back to town. During colder months, you'll enjoy piping hot coffee, tea and/or mulled wine before breakfast.
After your flight, you'll also receive a superb full-colour personalised flight certificate to prove to the world that, yes, you really did go hot air ballooning.
Child must be accompanied by an adult.
Ballooning can only be done in good weather. We ask you to phone our operators in the late afternoon prior to flying for their GO/NO GO decision. Cameras are welcome. If you have a video camera, you'll be delighted by our ability to rotate the balloon 360° to allow you to capture a seamless panorama |
