Sail on MPI Spirit - a 75ft America's Cup Yacht

Hoist the sail, get behind the grinders and experience first hand, what it's like to sail a 75ft, state-of-the-art, International America's Cup Class racing yacht. Spirit provides a once in a lifetime sailing experience and a unique and exciting way to explore Sydney Harbour.

This activity commences in Pyrmont Bay - across the road from the front steps of Star City Casino. and visits The boat sails up towards Manly, following the southern shore line. The boat does not go outside the heads but remains within the harbour for the duration of the cruise.

The 3 hour cruise operates on Saturday afternoons. Depart 1:30pm Return 4:30pm Please be at the wharf 15 minutes prior to the departure time so that you are ready to board when the boat pulls into the wharf at 1:30pm.

There will be a crew of 4 professional yachtsmen onboard. 'Ft Spirit' requires a minimum of 10 guests to operate and can take up to 30 guests.

Anyone over 12 years of age is able to join our scheduled cruise. Unfortunately Spirit is not wheelchair accessible.

Please wear comfortable cloths, enclosed soft soled shoes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a warm jacket.

Designed, built and skippered by Iain Murray for the 1992 Challenge in San Diego, Spirit is an awesome spectacle carrying a sail area almost twice that of the previous America's Cup 12 Metre yachts. As a guest on board, it will be you who helps take this magnificent yacht around Sydney Harbour! Upon boarding the boat in Pyrmont Bay, you will be required to complete an indemnity form. After a welcome and safety briefing by our crew, the sail will be hoisted and you will head up Sydney Harbour towards Manly. Guided by our professional crew, you are welcome to participate in the actual sailing as much or as little as you wish - no experience necessary! On the way back to Pyrmont, an afternoon tea of fruit, sandwiches and soft drinks is provided. There will be plenty of photo opportunities so feel free to bring along your camera.

The sail departs from Casino Wharf, Pyrmont Bay, Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, NSW. Please wear non-marking, soft-soled shoes. It's also a good idea to bring a jumper or jacket and sunglasses.
