asymmetric spinnakers. On completion of this course you will have a good understanding of the
mechanics of spinnaker trim and the procedures that will result in successful hoists, gybes and drops. Asymmetric spinnakers (A-sails)have been the biggest break through in spinnaker design in the last 20 years. They have revolutionised
down wind performance and the ease of sail handling for all sailors whether they sail cruising yachts, skiffs, the new range of exciting
sport yachts or at the elite level of our sport Volvo 60 and America Cup class yachts. Our Instructors have experience sailing in all
these different classes of yacht and have developed a course that will broaden your understanding of spinnaker use and trim. The course will take you through the particular techniques of preparing, hoisting, gybing and dropping A-sails. No previous spinnaker
handling experience is required, however entry level to this course is Competent Crew level. The course will also suit someone who has
considerable experience with conventional symmetrical spinnakers and desires a better understanding of the subtleties of sailing with
asymmetric spinnakers. On completion of this course you will have a good understanding of the
mechanics of spinnaker trim and the procedures that will result in successful hoists, gybes and drops.
