Splash of Chardonnay Winery paddle

What could be better than drifting down a swift moving river, stopping for lunch and a wine tasting, and paddling on to another winery for afternoon tea and more tastings? It can only be bettered by sharing it with fun loving friends who also like the sun, the water and plenty of excitement.

This activity takes place on the Goulburn River between Mitchelton Winery and Tahbilk Winery; near Nagambie.

This is a full day trip. We depart from the river at approximately 9:30 am and conclude at Tahbilk Winery at 5:00 pm.

Group size is generally between 10 to 30 people. A number of trained river guides look after you.

All participants must be comfortable in water. You will be issued with a buoyancy vest. Non-swimmers must inform the trip leader. Suitable for children aged above 6 years. No experience is required for canoeing - we'll teach all the techniques needed.

The Splash Of Chardonnay is more than a drop of wine in a glass. The fresh waters of the Goulburn River are ideal for a swim and some horseplay with your closest friends. Your guides have lots of river games up their sleeves to keep you laughing and entertained as you float between the wineries. Our six person rafts are a great platform for relaxing and friendly activity. Come along by yourself and meet like minded people ... or arrange a group of friends or colleagues and share a day you''ll never forget! The day begins when you meet us at the River near Nagambie to the north of Melbourne. Before we leave the river bank we will equip you with a thermal top, a buoyancy vest and a paddle. You will need your boardies, a sun cap, sun cream, sunglasses with a tie, old running shoes and an adventurous spirit! A quick safety talk ... then you''re away. Your guides will show you how to guide your raft and will get you firing with some exciting river games. Before you know it, you will arrive at our first stop, Mitchelton Winery. While your guides are arranging lunch on the luscious lawns, you can slip into the tasting room for sip of Mitchelton's finest or climb the tower (rather, jump in the elevator) to peruse the landscape. After lunch we hit the clear Goulburn waters again where we soak up the sun and play some more games before arriving at Tahbilk Winery. This magnificent winery is Victoria's oldest and is quite a contrast to the modern surrounds of Mitchelton. Explore the underground network of cellars and, of course, sample Tahbilk's wonderful range. From Tahbilk we head home ... feeling relaxed , exhilarated and refreshed. Bring your credit card - you'll be sure to want some these wines in your cellar! Lunch and Wine Tasting are included!

Staff are trained river guides. Cameras, mediactions, and other small personal items can be carried down the river in our waterproof containers. You can purchase wines (which can be carried in the boats or given to our ground crew).
