Unleashing the Artist Within

Ever stood in front of a canvas and not known where to begin? This fun and exciting one day workshop teaches students how to find their own raw visual language. Explore colour, texture and composition and complete a series of your own paintings. Excellent for absolute beginners.

This is a full day of creativity. The class begins at 9:30am and will conclude at 4:30pm. Your day will include 1 hour for a lunch break.

Maximum of 12 students per session.

Please wear old clothing that you don't mind getting paint on (it can sometimes stain and ruin fabrics!). We also advise you to wear comfortable shoes.

Arrive at 9.30 am and familiarise yourself with our beautiful garden studios and your fellow students for the day. We will commence the day by learning about abstract art and looking at the work of famous artists. You will then be supplied with all the materials you need to make your first piece of art for the day. You will be guided through this process which is designed to tap into your own personal expression and visual language. At 12.30 you will have a lunch break for one hour. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or you can visit one of the many lovely Glenhuntly Road cafes for lunch. After lunch we will view the morning paintings. From there each student will create a painting on canvas using detail from the morning painting. We will supply you with added materials to help build your work on canvas.
